Step 1
Create a Sunbelt Account
If you are interested in renting a Sherpa Drone from Sunbelt, the best place to start is setting up your own Sunbelt Rentals account
- Get started
- Once your account is set up, get in contact with a Sunbelt Representative

Step 2
Complete Sherpa Academy
We’ll help you get started with Sherpa Academy, a comprehensive online training program built to turn you into a Sherpa pro.
- Drone operations & maintenance
- Best practices
- Troubleshooting & job site optimization
- Completion certificate for proof of training
Step 3
In-Person Training with Sunbelt Rentals
Get hands-on training from field experts through Sunbelt Rentals. We’ll walk you through flight basics, safety protocols, setup/teardown, and real-world spray operations — so you're confident from your first job.
- On-site or regional training options in either Miami or South Carolina
- Real-world job site simulations
- Get comfortable with the gear before going solo

Step 4
Get Your FAA Part 107 License
To legally fly commercially in the U.S., you’ll need a Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
We’ve got resources to help you:
- Study guides and test prep recommendations
- Practice exams and scheduling links
You don’t need it to start training, but we’ll help you get certified when you're ready to rent. Don’t worry, if you don’t plan to be the pilot, you can submit proof of a pilot you have on staff.
